Wales Haiku Journal, Summer 2023
Albert Camus said, “In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.” All of us have a favourite season, and summer has always been mine. With this month’s spotlight, I wanted to capture the essence of summer in all its glory (early, mid, late), however fleetingly. Skip some stones, chase a firefly, leisurely sip coconut water, or bite into a melon. I hope you enjoy dipping your toes in the river of haiku or stop by to become one with the quintessentially blue, blue skies.
Thank you all.

À beautiful ku love the pairing of the colours
The azure blue of the sky is also on the kingfisher's plumes. The sky itself is contained in the kingfisher. We're all connected, we're all one with each other and with everything.
This is beautiful. I love the link of the kingfisher's plumage to the colour of the sky.
Lovely!
I am honoured, Shloka.
Thanks for the heart-warming comments. The kingfisher is one of the birds special to me. I have tried so many ways to come at its stunning beauty, and am still questing. Happily there are quite a few around Thames Ditton.
