A TUESDAY FEATURE
hosts: Padma Rajeswari, K. Ramesh
guest editor: Padma Rajeswari
Only the unpublished poems (that are never published on any social media platform/journals/anthologies) posted here for each prompt will be considered for Triveni Haikai India's monthly journal -- haikuKATHA, each month.
Poets are requested to post poems (haiku/senryu) that adhere to the prompts/exercises given.
Only 1 poem to be posted in 24 hours. Total 2 poems per poet are allowed each week (numbered 1,2). So, revise your poems till 'words obey your call'.
If a poet wants feedback, then the poet must mention 'feedback welcome' below each poem that is being posted.
Responses are usually a mixture of grain and chaff. The poet has to be discerning about what to take for the final version of the poem or the unedited version will be picked up for the journal.
The final version should be on top of the original version for selection.
Poetry is a serious business. Give you best attempt to feature in haikuKATHA !!

We brought our beagle home in March 2012. I didn’t want a pet, but gave into my son’s heartfelt wish for a pet. Chocochip trotted into our lives and without warning, changed it forever.
We fondly called him the CEO of our family—the Chief Entertainment Officer. But his role went far beyond entertainment. He intuitively knew when someone at home was unwell or sad. He would quietly curl up next to that person and simply be there. It was his way of saying, “Don’t worry. This too shall pass. I’m here.”
Our bond with animals runs deeper than many of us realise — whether it’s with a beloved pet, a stray on the street, or even a bird that visits our balcony. Long before humans shaped the world, we were just another species in the intricate web of life. Somewhere in our DNA, that ancient connection still lives.

What relationship do you share with animals? Is it love, indifference, or perhaps even discomfort? This week, I invite you to write a poem about your own connection with animals or birds.
