a flycatcher
chasing moon-bleached wings
summer’s end
– Julie Schwerin
Autumn Moon Haiku Journal, 4:2, Spring/Summer 2021
Albert Camus said, “In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.” All of us have a favourite season, and summer has always been mine. With this month’s spotlight, I wanted to capture the essence of summer in all its glory (early, mid, late), however fleetingly. Skip some stones, chase a firefly, leisurely sip coconut water, or bite into a melon. I hope you enjoy dipping your toes in the river of haiku or stop by to become one with the quintessentially blue, blue skies.
Thank you all.

Thanks Shloka for all the lovely poems. I couldn't comment on each one of them but just read through and what an abundance of little joys of this magnificent world around us.
Summer ends with this flycatcher!!!
What a wonderful poem, Julie. The imagery is so creative. Thank you for sharing this today.
