This poem deeply resonates with me. How often we think we 'know' who they are as they are 'our' children, but we forget they are their own people, especially boys.

The layers here are profound, covering all the possibilities. A poem to linger on.

Such a sad and raw moment captured in this haiku.

This poem is very strong for the simple reason that as we grow old, we ourselves feel as strangers to our own blood relations. Somehow somewhere the relationships goes for a toss and we feel we are lost in the maddening world. The generation gap, the difference of opinions, the societal way of living, etc.

Howsoever we try to mend the torn mouth of the blooms, the gaps get stretched and the vaccum remains.

Lovely poem!

I would love to read the story behind this poem from the horse's mouth.

Thank you!!
