Thank you all for your lovely responses.

Sometimes we really need such positive poems, don't we?

Joe says only this:

The poem was written in acknowledgment of my wife. We have been married over 50 years and she has always been my compass through troubled times.

Love it. Reminds me of a one-line haiku I've on North Star:

North Star my grandpa's words long after

~

In a reality of constant change, to be aware of something that 'stays constant' to our eye is a powerful thing if we reflect on it.

Joe's poem is filled with a mix of melancholy, resignation and hope. One could imagine what one went through to come to the resignation "we'll find a way", especially when you think they had to look at an impossibly distant celestial object to reshape their perspective and sort of come to terms with something big.
