laughALONG! 26 August, 2025

A TUESDAY FEATURE

hosts: Padma Rajeswari, K. Ramesh

guest editor: Lakshmi Iyer

Only the unpublished poems (that are never published on any social media platform/journals/anthologies) posted here for each prompt will be considered for Triveni Haikai India's monthly journal -- haikuKATHA, each month.

Poets are requested to post poems (haiku/senryu) that adhere to the prompts/exercises given.

Only 1 poem to be posted in 24 hours. Total 2 poems per poet are allowed each week (numbered 1,2). So, revise your poems till 'words obey your call'.

If a poet wants feedback, then the poet must mention 'feedback welcome' below each poem that is being posted.

Responses are usually a mixture of grain and chaff. The poet has to be discerning about what to take for the final version of the poem or the unedited version will be picked up for the journal.

The final version should be on top of the original version for selection.

Poetry is a serious business. Give you best attempt to feature in haikuKATHA !!

For a change, I have a poem. I am a bathroom singer and here it is 👍

the Sound of Music

drown the drain

‘Good the buffaloes didn’t turn up.. singing was manageable’, said Mother!

                            ‘It only drowned the drain!!’

Tickle your laughing cells and allow me to read your ‘out of the blue’ comedy arranged in that formless to a form attire put to your best formula!

Thank you All!

No. It’s ‘mating’ Kanji. They move as they mate. Occasionally, I see them straying on to my office floor and have taken pictures. Sorry for my late response. Stuck with some personal work, I wasn’t active around here. Do check out the info below I sourced from the net.

Mating red cotton stainers move around because mating occurs while they are attached, allowing for movement to find new food sources or to evade predators. The male will often remain on the female's back, sometimes for days, while they both move, feeding on seeds or bolls to gain the energy needed for reproduction and migration to new feeding grounds.

How they move during mating:

1. Male-on-female positioning:
