“Gratitude”- feel the abundance!

"All that we behold is full of blessings"

---- William Wordsworth

Cultivating the culture of gratitude develops a sense of

contentment.

a. Have you felt happy while expressing or receiving gratitude?

b. When was the last time you felt a deep sense of gratitude?

c. Do you feel grateful for what you have been given?

d. Do you appreciate yourself?

Let’s write about that moment when you could or couldn’t express

gratitude!

the thief left it behind

the moon

at the window

------ Ryokan

Here's ending this month's last post with these beautiful lines:

“Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer

and let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good”

---- Maya Angelou

Sorry, but it's first time I'm seeing such an adjective used for moon

hand held

she crossed the bridge

a lone shadow across

Even when I lost her in physical form, I find her in me, in my actions, and in people whose life her kind soul touched.

I am grateful that I find peace in her memories, smiling through roughest seasons of life...

grateful that I feel her presence as my guardian angel at every crossroad in my life...

grateful that her words as well as actions have always been about kindness, courage, and love...

grateful that that wonderful, kind, giving soul was my mom...

I could write for my entire life and still wouldn't be enough to express how grateful I am to be born as her daughter, her bahadur baccha…

Kala ma'am,

Thank you so much! I actually wanted to post only the ku, but couldn't stop myself from writing more for her. If this can be read as a haibun as well, I would like to give it a try. I will post it in the haibun gallery and get feedback from the mentors.

Bringing the haiku into the present works so well, and the title is the initial thought that inspired my haiku, so your suggestions have polished my thoughts. Thank you so much, for guiding me! :) to that, cheers to my first ever try for a haibun <3
