A Note:
Thanks for this opportunity to present my selection to the readers and members of Triveni. In my collection for the spotlight feature, I have tried to include some of the seasoned as well as new poets who have begun to make their mark on the haikai scene all over the world. My effort is to bring them into the Triveni fold since some of them are not seen around our different features that are extremely engaging. I have noticed a freshness of images in their poems that are minimalist at times and others have an extremely interesting turn of phrase.
I hope you enjoy the read. I am looking forward to your feedback.

Thank you for being our next guest editor, Arvinder. We are waiting to see the month unfold. _()_
I can relate🙂. Good one.
I like this one. There are many fruits with vitamins, flavonols and various anti-oxidants that have health benefits; and good health promotes longevity. So there is some scientific basis for the belief expressed in this verse. What raises it from a plain statement to a haiku/senryu, in my view, is the selection of a bitter or sour fruit. The tendency to be bitter or sour in one's older age is familiar. Here we have a readiness to swallow that bitterness in the hope of extending life. Something positive ensues.
Good one!
I wonder if I’m the only one who loves the (bitter) taste of gooseberries!?
