paper boat—
how far will it carry
my child's smile
— Kashinath Karmakar
As a citizen of Bangladesh, I am a proud Bengali. We fought for our mother language, our
independence, our freedom. I live in a country where one can see the beauty of six
seasons, soothing nature, an overwhelmed peace and the silence of a solitary moon. I feel
the freedom of a bird, and I live with love. When I selected these poems, these attributes got
priority. I hope the ku that I selected for this month will be appreciated by all. I believe that it will bring a new aura, will make all the poets more connected and will enhance the interaction
among each other as well.
Thank you all.

The hope of a better future for your child also overcomes the pain of separation...
I love this haiku, one to treasure. Thank you.
Most beautifully written, Kash.
Congratulations!
Good choice, Kamrun.
Thank you very much. This ku will stay with me for a very long time... and that smile will too...
This is from such a keen observation. So nicely done. I like it very much.
