once I believed
a flower should not
be plucked
now I see you
wither away untouched
— Kala Ramesh
Published in the forest i know (HarperCollins 2021)
My theme is haikai poems from books I have read and enjoyed and want to share with the Triveni family. Each poem is from a different book and there are a range of subjects. Hope you and Triveni visitors enjoy the poems.

Thank you for being our next guest editor, Namratha. It will be great to read poems immortalized on paper. I am sure our members will look forward to reading your selections all through this month.

The book is a treasure!
Nice and subtle!
Beautifully crafted! Loved it.
fear not , like some "things" the flower has lived the life intended
It has shone with it's beauty for us to look upon, paint pictures and write poetry
it has been touched by bees that make honey and other insects that spread it's seeds
for the next generation
bird's have likely drunk of it's nectar
it has provided a more positive impact on this earth than many humans
I do not weep for it, for in its death the soil will be nourished.
What a beauty crafted from a natural commonplace cycle! Love this!
