Editor's Note: The theme is ' The Ephemeral'. My endeavour here is to feature the poems that portray the ephemerality of things and emotions.
I have a new idea for L4-5 —feedback welcome

skip from cloud to cloud
set free
my eyes can not settle
on just one cherry blossom
spring birds
skip from cloud to cloud
set free
my thoughts can not settle
only in one place
my soul’s muse
early this april morning
has crept in
I know of nothing beyond
the evanescent sea fog

I love the lower verse. Such an unusual way of expression. But can someone explain L2 to me? Rather - what is 'bittersweet' 'the wind-swept bittersweet' ?
Getting to learn 'the ephemeral'! Thank you!
Lovely tanka. Love Larry's work. Thanks for sharing 👍
