Flowers and Self

“A flower blossoms for its own joy.”

― Oscar Wilde

The most exquisite form of nature is flower or blossom that displays its beauty through its enchanting colours, alluring fragrance, elegant style, and delicate shape. A flower presents the concept of wholeness that passes through a complete process of evolution before it finally unfurls or unfolds its true colours that is more like a reflection of being/self - simple and pure, soft and delicate, kind and compassionate. I have a great affinity with flowers especially roses that change my mood and make me smile everyday especially when they are in full bloom. It’s meditative and rather therapeutic to compare and contrast my own self with a rose that never cease to bloom irrespective of time, place, and season.

How do you relate yourself with a flower? and which flower has a positive impact on your feelings and thoughts?

Sharing an insightful quote about flower and self:

“If you tend to a flower, it will bloom, no matter how many weeds surround it.”

– Matshona Dhliwayo
