A Tincture in Ether

It’s as if paint splattered the sky salmon pink, amber, and then some orange and gold. The orange gets brighter, the glow almost ethereal, before gently fading into a dull shade of peach. Suddenly, the only colour left is a strange indigo behind the black silhouette of a weeping willow.

How to write Haibun by Roberta Beary Lew and Rich Youmans, 2023)

Geetanjali Rajan shares her experience:

“As I was driving back with a PET scan report on my lap, the colours of the scan seem to coalesce in the western sky and shift into the darkness that pervaded the next few months. While I had words, the sky seemed to say it better.”

Prompt for Writers

Can you share a similar story on such an experience? Somewhere where nature encompasses our emotions!

Thank you The Haibun Gallery Team!

Thank you, Lakshmi Iyer, this week's haibun by Geetanjali is such an interesting blend of nature and human emotions.

It rained beyond the hospital window closed tight shut to keep out the cold. It seemed that summer was skipped snd it was autumn alresdy. It seemed that my fruitful time of the third age was cut short in its prime for my dotage. But now the sun shines ttrough in a pale blue sky. My discharge is imminent.
