Did the father die?
Or did he move away from her and her mother?
Or did the mother move away taking custody of her child?
scent of snow ...
Can it be the scent of the narrator building a snowman, or playing in the snow with her father? Or was it in winter that the N and her father were separated? L1 is a powerful line with a strong impact.
