Loved the 'i've' in it. There is something so special about the raindrops that the poet so beautifully uses the word, 'especially'. Beautiful!
After reading the author’s thoughts behind this poem (curtesy Sanjukta: thanks) this poem became more poignant. Beautiful piece.
tearstained a memory floats the beauty spot on her chin
This is poignant without a doubt. With age I am realising that my short term memories have turned fragile. But long term memories keep talking to me. They say old is gold. It applies to memories too perhaps.
Sandi Pray has to say this about the poem:
As I grow old I am noticing so many things I know I should know but cannot remember. Much of the past is gone. At this same time we are/were going through a drought. As I am one who loves rain . . this hot afternoon I was feeling down and these thoughts just came together in a one-liner.
