changing kimonos
between seasons . . .
my ordinary life

i love this Japanese artist: Ikenaga Yasunari
Here is what the poet has to say about her stunning ku:
Even though I don't wear kimonos, I do, however, love clothes
and change them throughout the year, throughout the four seasons.
My clothes are a way for me to express my unique personality. I
don't have a "style"; it changes with my moods.
Yet, my day-to-day life is ordinary. Nothing extraordinary happens.
I get up, drink my coffee, read the newspaper, check my emails,
eat lunch, run some errands, do laundry, do the dishes, eat dinner, watch some TV
and go to bed. No lover to change or remove my kimonos or clothes
before making love. Sad, but true; such is the way of an ordinary
woman's life.
Pamela wanted to share this image with the readers which she thinks depicts the emotion of her haiku.
I remember this one very well!
Such a beautiful and layered ku.
