It is a pleasure to read this poem and appreciate how each word in the phrase is placed just so to understand the thought behind the author’s penning of this haiku! The additional comments by Lakshmi and Sanjuktaa’s comments from the author help get it right too. Thanks for sharing!
Thought provoking ku by Goran Gatalica. The background and explanation given by Lakshmi helped me understand the poem in a better way. Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem.
Intriguing and mysterious ... that's how this poem strikes me.
Here's what the poet himself had to say about this ku:
When grown from seed, the plants can take 2 - 3 years to produce blooms. The seed does require a cold treatment for germination.
Behind the verses "I sleep wherever / the night catches me": It gets pretty loud here when dreaming so I doubt you could always be hearing both your surroundings and your dream at the same time. Some noises might make it through, and normally it should wake you up a bit.. but constant noises like air conditioning could be heard in your sleep, acknowledged as what they are, but not dangerous so it doesn't arouse…
This is very intriguing. just lately i read about anemone. The flower part and the symbolic feature, the Greek story..etc.. I liked the phrase part where the poet retires to the hope of catching sleep whenever the night catches her and not vice versa. Strange !!
this poem is very deep and signifies the active participation whenever required and not the dormant.
Lovely!
