During this month, I’d like to introduce contemporary Japanese haiku, including kigo, which are referred to as “yūki haiku(有季俳句)”. In yūki haiku, toriawase (matching kigo and the remaining phrases) is the key point, not to mention its creativity and originality. In my view, Japanese haiku are generally simple compared to English (language) haiku, but the subtle sensibility is embedded within as the synergies with the power of kigo. I hope you enjoy karumi (lightness) blended with seasonality in these haiku.

Thank you for the comment, Linda.
Posting the same from my reply to Keiko.
Great! Maybe the subtlety in the relationship to tighten the knots more and more atleast once a year when the cherry blossoms. Many things are resolved only when the mind is calm and free...now especially with cherry blossom season they would surely want to solve all unresolved equations of life.
I liked the verse and I thought if we could build a tanka around it, if permitted. ( not to be published)

Just a try. Thanks Keiko.
When I found this haiku on the Internet, I was immediately drawn to it. This ku must’ve been written by a high school boy. I guess the couple was preparing for an exam, or doing homework together.
This haiku is filled with the splendor of youth along with the fresh scent of cherry blossoms. The kigo “cherry blossoms” is making a perfect toriawase with this pleasing scene.
