"I know nothing in the world that has as much power as a word. Sometimes I write one, and look at it, until it shines."

--- Emily Dickinson

Truly, words have immense power. For haiku poets each word counts (rather each syllable!) for this is the one-breath poetry of brevity.

So how do you hone this skill of using the right word in your haiku? Do share your haiku where you make each word shine!

I write, erase, rewrite

Erase again, and then

A poppy blooms

--- Katsushika Hokusai
